For the 2018 season the MSA blue book features a significant regulation change which effects fire extinguishers fitted into competition vehicles. To directly quote the blue book ‘All extinguishers must be serviced in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines, or every 24 months, whichever is sooner.’ The purpose of this article is to clarify this regulation change, outline the implications for the systems already in service and offer alternatives to competitors who have system which are out of date.
Aircraft manufacturer Cirrus, innovators in aircraft safety - all thier aircraft are fitted with the Cirrus airframe parachute system - have recently specified Lifeline fire suppression technology to protect both passenger and engine compartments.
Working with thier US partners, Mustang Aero Developments, Lifeline have specified a XXX system which has been granted approval by the Federal Aviation Authority.
This is Lifeline's first foray into the aerospace market and is another example of the company's progressive attitude to opening new markets.
